Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

In following guidelines and with our aim to keep public and staff safe our staff have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists, the UK trade body for our industry & BARBICIDE. We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate:

Booking Appointments

If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This means that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness/ other.

Visiting the Salon

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving.

Please book more than one treatment per visit to maximise on each of your visit to reduce overall revisits. To aid social distancing we will only have 5 people (Including therapists) in the salon at any one time until all risks are eliminated.

Please attend your salon appointments unaccompanied and with minimal personal possessions.

We recommend you do not bring expansive jewellery/handbags/ footwear/shopping bags, to the salon as you will need to disinfect spray the jewellery/bags/footwear. There is “in salon” foot ware and covers, you are highly encouraged to wear these which we will disinfect and wash or dispose where applicable between clients.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles, tap handles and switches are disinfected between clients all day and in between clients.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected and sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety. You are encouraged to bring your own, manicure/pedicure, facial tools and head bands, personal items, which you can bring and take home with you. We also have these for sale at The Anise as well.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect from cross contamination.

You will have access to hand sanitisation, soap and water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the salon. You will be guided on arrival on all precautions to take by staff and posters.

We request that you wear a facemask when you visit the salon and during your treatment if this is appropriate (aside from facials where the therapist will use full PEP and make amendments to the Facial to help with prevention measures)

Please don’t be surprised or upset if our staff use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / facemasks / visors/aprons where appropriate.

Laundering of salon towels and uniforms are a priority we can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.

We apologise in advance, clients are requested to bring their own water bottles/drinks in bottles if needed as serving of drinks/refreshments is currently suspended.

Log Book

We have introduced a simple log book system, to record your name, time and date of visit and your body temperature, using a non-touch thermometer. Temperature will be taken on arrival, staff and clients who record a temperature of 38C will need to go home. This is purely a safety measure, please do not be offended.

Our treatments

We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely, we have decided that the Facial and Body treatments require adaptation for transmission control, safety and social distancing reasons, some treatments have been eliminated and cannot be provided until further notice. Please wash your hands before and after your treatment.

During your treatment

Our staff understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we and you wash our/your hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment and in between displayed on guidance posters at sinks before and after getting ready in the treatment room.

Plastic boxes are available in rooms for you to keep your clothing, mobile phone and personal items, the box is disinfected after each client.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.

After the treatment

Please wash your hands after changing into your home clothes after each treatment. We would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card, cash is also welcome, we have a specific container allocated for cash, please place your cash after counting in the allocated container at front desk which will be disinfected by our staff before putting it away.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff and our/your families. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

With all due respects, we reserve the right to decline treatment and politely ask any person entering the premises without recommended PPE or knowledge of COVID-19 protocols or those who insists on not complying to COVID 19 prevention safe practises.
